About Programme

Mechanical Engineering, which has a significant share in the history of humanity and the development of civilization, has spread to a wide range of sectors. It is one of the rare professions that will maintain this importance in the future as it is in the past and today. As it is known, machines are used in every field and make work easy. It is also open to continuous development and production. For these reasons, Mechanical Engineering will be one of the leading professions according to the results of the research conducted by the DPT in order to determine the occupational groups that will have an employment gap during the period reaching 2020. Academic staff, which are the basic elements of teaching and research activities; 1 Professor, 5 Doctoral Lecturers, 1 Research Assistant Doctor, 1 Research Assistant and 1 Instructor. The main purpose of academic staff; is to establish the infrastructure that will form the basis of self-technology which is transformed into production by reflecting the existing knowledge to the engineers and students who will contribute to the science and technology of our country.

History
KSÜ Department of Mechanical Engineering began education in 2009-2010 with undergraduate and graduate programs. Engineers, researchers and scientists have made important contributions to training. Mechanical Department is composed of 5 branches as Construction and Manufacturing, Energy, Thermodynamics, Department of Machine Theory and Dynamics. Our constitution undergraduate teaching is carried out in two programs, including formal and the evening education.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of program provided that program qualifications are met, an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering area can be earned.
Admission Requirements
Obtaining the required grade from National University Entrance and Placement Exam(YLS)
Higher Grade Transition
Candidates with an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering can be admitted to the graduate program if they get a valid score from Entrance Examination for Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education (ALES), and foreign languages exam (or equivalent exams such as Toefl and Ielts).
Graduation Requirements
The students have successfully completed (total 240 ECTS) all courses and achieve a CGPA of at least 2.00 on a 4.00 and completed the compulsory practical placement period of 60 days in which students completing the bachelor's degree is in Mechanical Engineering.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
The graduates of the mechanical engineering department has many opportunities of employment in a varitey of state and private companies. There are also cases where the graduates setup up their own jobs in various fields of mechanical engineering.
Assessment and Grading
Midterm and final exam for each course, students are subjected to. Success grade, 40% of the contribution of intermediate examination, and the contribution of the final exam is 60%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points and the final exam are required to obtain at least 35 points. A student (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) has received a letter grade, students are considered successful from that course
